Wizards of the Coast (WotC) has released its weekly update article for MTG Arena, highlighting the next Arena Open, The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth Story decks, and more.

The Arena Open

The next Arena Open is set for July 1-2 and will feature The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth Sealed and Draft. Day 1 is Sealed and players can choose to play in Best-Of-One or Best-Of-Three. Reach max wins on Day 1 to make Day 2, which includes two Drafts. Hit eight wins on Day 2 to win $2,000. Entry fee is 25,000 gold or 5,000 gems. Players can enter Day 1 as many times as they want. The entry award for the event is the Dragon Hoard card sleeve.

The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth Story Decks

Players can now download various The Lord Of The Rings: Tales of Middle-earth story decks. These decks are comprised of 60 The Lord Of The Rings: Tales of Middle-earth cards and are legal in both Alchemy and Historic. Players can also download a 100-card Historic Brawl deck, lead by Tom Bombadil. You can get more details and view each decklist here.

Magic Celebration

Magic Celebration events will be taking place at participating WPN and WPN Premium stores worldwide July 7–9.

Players will register and purchase two Jumpstart packets and play three casual rounds in-store. “The first 30 players to register and play Jumpstart at the Magic Celebration event will receive a limited-edition, collectible dice set that includes three six-sided (d6) dice and a burgundy bag with a golden Planeswalker symbol!” Bring up to eight friends and get a Thought Vessel promo card.

If you have registered an MTG Arena Wizards account in the Magic Companion app, you’ll receive a “special, ready-to-play deck in your MTG Arena inbox, beginning July 23.”
