• King Kekaulike High School
• Grade: 12 / GPA: 3.6
AP: Psychology, Calculus
• Sports: Air Riflery, Swimming
• Future Plans: I plan on going to Oregon State University or the University of Washington with a major in Psychology, Political Science, STEM, or Art History.
Sports Lessons: What I really enjoy about high school sports is it connects you with so many people that you would have never met. I’ve made so many new connections through Air Riflery and Swimming and have been given many opportunities because of them.
Being an athlete has taught me collaboration, communication, and confidence. I’m a lot more confident now when it comes to working in groups. Even though both of my sports are individual sports there is still a lot of working together and communicating that gets done; we’re all one team.
* Sports Spotlight students are selected by school administrators and athletic officials from Maui County high schools and these profiles are compiled by the advertising department of The Maui News. Alexander & Baldwin makes a $200 donation in honor of each student athlete to their high school’s athletic programs.
