Nampa Shari's employees recognized for saving man's life

It was just a regular day at Shari's for managers Amber Macias and Miranda Rinehart, but that quickly changed.

"It was just something that you don't think would happen in your normal daily life. Like it was just weird," Macias said.

Amber and Miranda were told a man was found unconscious in the bathroom.

"He was on the ground like you could tell he was not breathing because his face was like turning purple and everything," Macias said.

They were only two out of the four employees to help the man by performing CPR.

"He would start breathing for a couple of seconds, check his airway, and then he would stop breathing and so we would have to keep going on CPR," Rinehart said.

"That went on for what felt like forever, like just time stood really slow," Macias said.

After what seemed like an eternity, the CPR was able to keep the man alive.

"I'm just so proud of everyone to work together and to be able to do that because it was scary and it was under pressure," Rinehart said.

On Monday, the Nampa Idaho Fire Department recognized the employees who saved that man's life at a City Hall meeting.

"Everyone was like standing and clapping, and I just was so blessed. Like I just felt amazing, like the happiest I had been," Macias said.
